(A song i came across while listening to Tim McGraw(: Was surprised because i didn’t know he wrote christian songs too. Thought it was pretty meaningful – about waiting on the lord in surrender and trust, of how God used his ordinary disciples extraordinarily, miraculously. And of strength and love from above.)
More power to you
When you’re standing on His word
When you’re trusting with your whole heart
in the message you have heard
When we’re all in one accord.
Jesus promised His disciples He’d give strength to them
Jesus told them all to tarry in Jerusalem
When they were all in one accord
The power of His Spirit poured
And they began to turn the world around
So be strong in the Lord, in the power of His might
Put on all His armor and fight the good fight
In all of our weakness, He becomes so strong
When He gives us the power and the strength to carry on
The song i’ve been thinking about:
Forget not the hope that’s before you
And never stop counting the cost
Remember the hopelessness when you were lost
There is a joy in the journey
There’s a light we can love on the way
There is a wonder and wildness to life
And freedom for those who obey
Doesn’t it say it nicely; how it’s like when we’re lost, when we forget the hope that’s before us, at the cross. how there is a “wonder and wildness to life” but which we should behold in the light of Christ – and following the light, loving the light. Counting blessings, counting costs, learning to count it all joy.
